Marcus Peace Cox is a writer/director and Independent Spirit nominated and Gotham Award winning producer. His films have played prestigious film festivals including; SXSW, Dallas International, Tribeca, Toronto and Sundance. He founded Through Films with wife, Karrie Cox, in 2008. The company strives to produce meaningful motion pictures that captivate, influence and entertain audiences. His tenure at Through Films includes the development, production and distribution of projects such as; Kill or Be Killed, Adult Beginners, KICKS and Sean Baker’s Tangerine. Marcus is currently in post-production on Behold My Heart, starring Marisa Tomei, Charlie Plummer, Timothy Olyphant and Mireille Enos. Through Films has a diverse slate, with several film and television projects in development. Three of the projects on the development slate, including a feature, Relic, and television projects, Foreign & Domestic and Desperdicios, were written by Marcus. He is currently in pre-production on his directorial debut, Nocturne.Marcus was born and raised in Austin, Texas and spent much of his youth outside with slingshots and scorpions. He's been called a 'human Tonka Truck' and storytelling has always been a way for Marcus to connect with people and bring them together. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter.
