Kristine Belson is the President of Sony Pictures Animation and is responsible foroverseeing the development and production of all films on the Sony Pictures Animation slate. The studio is following its worldwide comedy hits—the record-breaking monster comedies Hotel Transylvania and Hotel Transylvania 2, the hybrid live action/animated blockbusters The Smurfs and The Smurfs 2, and the mouth-watering Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs movies—with three features this year: the fully animated reboot Smurfs: The Lost Village, now on digital and DVD; a surprising and comic take at the secret world inside our phones with The Emoji Movie, now in theaters; and the inspirational The Star this November. The studio will release Hotel Transylvania 3 in July 2018 and an animated Spider-Man feature from the minds of directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord in December 2018. Kristine joined Sony Pictures Animation in 2015 after spending nearly a decade at DreamWorks Animation, where, most recently, she produced The Croods, which hasgrossed over $587 million at the worldwide box-office and for which she was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature. Prior to The Croods, Kristine served as Executive Producer of the Academy Award®-nominated film, How to TrainYour Dragon. Kristine came to DreamWorks Animation with more than 15 years’ experience developing and producing both live-action and animated films. She spent eight years as Executive Vice President of Production at the Jim Henson Company. During her tenure,she developed a slate of more than 40 live-action and animated films. In addition, sheserved as an Executive Producer on Muppets from Space, producer on Good Boy! and Co-Producer on Five Children and It and The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz. Prior to joining The Jim Henson Company, Kristine held the post of Senior Vice President of Production for Columbia Pictures. Before her stint at Columbia, she served as Senior Vice President for Turner Pictures, and also spent two years as Director of Production at 20th Century Fox.
