Julian Sheppard
Julian is the Co-Writer of Complete Unknown, directed by Joshua Marston, and starring Rachel Weisz, Michael Shannon, Kathy Bates, and Danny Glover. It premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and was released theatrically by Amazon Studios later that year. He and Mr. Marston are currently adapting the film for television.His plays Buicks was originally produced by the Underwood Theater in New York. The production received 2 Drama Desk nominations, including one for Outstanding Play. Los Angeles was produced in L.A. in 2002 at the Pacific Resident Theater, and subsequently in 2007 at the Flea Theater in New York, directed by Adam Rapp. Owned was commissioned and produced by Knife Edge Productions, and premiered at the TBG Theater. His work has been developed and produced extensively in New York and around the country; most recently The Algorithm, workshopped at the Williamstown Theater Festival.He’s worked extensively in sports media for ESPN both for the network and in digital content, and contributed to NPR’s Ask Me Another. Julian is a graduate of the Lila Acheson Wallace Playwrights Program at Juilliard. He teaches playwriting and screenwriting at NYU and The New School.
