Jardine Libaire got her MFA in Writing from the University of Michigan. Her sixth novel White Fur (Hogarth), published in May 2017, was an Amazon Best Book, a Barnes + Noble Discover, and a Book of the Month selection; the television-series adaptation of White Fur she wrote for FilmNation Entertainment just landed a home at Amazon Studios where she continues to develop it. She also just wrote and published a documentary book with photographer Phyllis B. Dooney Gravity Is Stronger Here about a gay woman in the Deep South bouncing back from meth-related charges. She’s won the Hopwood Award, the Glascock Poetry Prize, and Honorable Mention for the Dorothea Lange-Paul Taylor Prize in Documentary. She also belongs to an artist collective who put on immersive art events at Justine’s Brasserie here in Austin, and she facilitates a writing program called Truth Be Told for incarcerated women in Lockhart, Texas.
