Angela Torres Camarena

Angela is an award-winning film director and writer devoted to creating meaningful films from a sensitive and poetic perspective. Her films have been selected at film festivals around the world including the Palm Springs Film Festival, SXSW and Cannes. In 2009 she won the Changemaker Award by HBO with her film Exiled in America. Her film Frente Noreste - starring Mexican Academy Award winners Evangelina Sosa & Luis Felipe Tovar; won the C.W. Hacket Award as an outstanding work for Latin America and was acquired by PBS for broadcasting in the United States. Her latest film, The Trigger received a Texas Filmmakers' Production Fund grant and is in development as a feature film. Angela recently optioned a best-selling children's book which she is currently adapting into a feature film. She holds an MFA in Film Production from UT Austin and is a faculty member in the School of Film and Television at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
