Dennis Bishop

Moderator; producer Dexter; Film Chair KD Conservatory, Dallas

Dennis created and is Chair of the Film Program at KD Conservatory, College of Film and Dramatic Arts, Dallas, Texas. KD Conservatory is a fully accredited college offering Associate of Applied Arts Degrees in Acting Performance, Musical Theatre, and Motion Picture Production.

A native Texan, Dennis’ commercially successful and award winning feature and television productions include: the acclaimed TV pilot Dexter for Showtime; Horton Foote’s Academy Award winning, The Trip to Bountiful; and Universal Pictures’ The Fast and the Furious. As VP of Production at HBO Pictures Dennis oversaw such award winning films as Barbarians at the Gate and And the Band Played On during HBO’s unprecedented Emmy reign. He was a resource advisor for the Sundance Institute and as an educator has served as an adjunct professor at USC, guest lectured at universities, and mentored for the Producers Guild and Directors Guild of America.

Dennis has moderated and/or participated on panels at numerous festivals and schools: including: the Sundance Summer Workshops, SXSW, Austin Film Festival, AFI Dallas, The Actors Studio, and for the DGA at the American Film Market. Dennis served for three successful years as Director of the Lone Star Film Festival and Film Society where he is currently an Advisor.

Dennis is the Founding and Senior Consultant for EARTHxFilm, Dallas, a festival showcasing films and emerging media that explore conservation, climate change, and the environment that takes place each April during Earth Day weekend at EARTHx, the world’s largest eco-conference and exhibition focused on environmental education and awareness.

Dennis is a producing partner with Michael Cain and Melina McKinnon at M3 Films, LLC, Dallas.
