In 2008, cynical rookie journalist Jay Bahadur has just graduated college in one of the worst economic times since the great depression, leaving him desperate for money and a job. While living in his parents’ basement and amidst receiving countless rejection letters from potential employers, he forms a half-baked plan to embed himself among the pirates of Somalia. He ultimately provides the first close-up look into who these men are, how they live, and the forces that drive them.
