Elie Choufany got his B.A. in Film Studies in Beirut, after which he received an M.A. in Screenwriting from the London Film School in 2014.

After show-running a TV series in Lebanon, he moved to Los Angeles, California in 2016, where he wrote his first feature-length animated film for Lionsgate.

Elie has also written numerous short films, such as ‘Towards the Sun’, ‘The Dressmaker’ and ‘Home Education’, which have been accepted and awarded by several festivals such as ‘Hollyshorts Film Festival’, ‘Atlanta Film Festival’ and ‘Leeds International Film Festival’.

'Towards the Sun' is screening at Austin Film Festival on Sunday 29th of October, 2017.
