Linda O. Olszewski is one of the most passionate and knowledgeable people in the short film industry. After trying to get a shorts division launched at several studios, she joined SHORTS INTERNATIONAL in January 2006 and oversaw the launch of the Oscar Shorts Theatrical/VOD/iTunes releases and has served as an Associate Producer for 10 years. She has served on over 100 international film fest juries and panels while offering distribution deals for iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and nonexclusive TV license for ShortsHD™ - The Short Movie Channel, the global television home to high quality celebrity, comedy, animation, adventure, sports, sexy, action, and award winning short movies.  ShortsHD™  is available across Europe, East Africa and in the US on DIRECTV (Channel 568) and AT&T U-Verse (Channel 1789).

 

Under her side banner, MOVIES THAT MATTER Linda consults to filmmakers on festival, distribution and Academy Award strategy. Linda contributed to “Swimming Upstream: A Lifesaving Guide to Short Film Distribution” and Chris Jones’s “The Guerilla Filmmakers Pocketbook.” She holds an MA in film, and has acquired short films for The Hatchery and EVEO, developed shorts for Hanna-Barbera’s WHAT A CARTOON for Cartoon Network, programmed shorts for the DreamWorks Short Film Festival, Palm Springs Short FF, Newport Beach FF and Sofia Independent FF, and pre-screened shorts and feature for Fear Fete and Sundance FF. Additional credits include SHREK, THE ROAD TO EL DORADO, PRINCE OF EGYPT, REALITY BITES, and THE LIFE OF DAVID GALE. She began her career as a documentary cameraman and photojournalist in Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion, and remains an avid photographer.
