I began writing plays in 2004 and have since written 13 plays, all but one with gay characters and themes. All but two of these plays have been produced, in a total of 22 productions and 7 staged readings from coast to coast and from Guam to Ontario. My AFF play, "Dex & Abby", is a funny, moving full length play about a gay couple who are starting a relationship and their two dogs. The guys are in love, the dogs hate each other. The dogs are played by human actors. My latest play, "Dare", was the winner of the 2017 Mario Fratti-Fred Newman Political Play contest sponsored by the Castillo Theatre in New York City. In 2018 this play will conclude the season of the Desert Rose Playhouse in Palm Springs, CA. Set in a nursing home, this play deals with gay history, the challenge of AIDS, enduring homophobia, issues of aging in the gay community, end of life issues, gay assimilation vs. gay radicalism...and the vital role of drag queens.
